Facial Cleansing Gel Use in Children and Pregnant Women:

What to Consider?

Pregnancy and childhood are two of the most physiologically sensitive periods for the skin. The ingredients of skincare products used during these periods can directly affect skin health. Facial cleansing gels, especially those among cleansing products, are among the products that need to be carefully selected due to their formulations.

Children's skin is thinner than adult skin, has a lower moisture retention capacity, and is more permeable to external factors. Therefore, facial cleansing gels for children should be sulfate-free, contain gentle surfactants, have a pH value compatible with the skin, and be supported by soothing ingredients. Harsh cleansers like SLS and SLES can cause barrier damage and irritation in children's skin. Also, potential irritants such as alcohol, perfume, and dyes should be avoided.

During pregnancy, skin type can change along with hormonal changes; While some women experience increased oiliness and acne tendency, others may experience dryness and sensitivity. Face wash gels used during this period should contain gentle cleansers, just like those for children; they should cleanse without drying the skin or damaging the barrier. At the same time, ingredients such as retinoid derivatives, high concentrations of salicylic acid, phthalates, and parabens should be avoided.

YOSEN face wash gel is formulated to be suitable for both children and pregnant individuals. Its sulfate- and alcohol-free formula, skin-compatible pH value of 5.0–5.5, and soothing and moisturizing ingredients such as Panthenol, Aloe Vera, Allantoin, and Hyaluronic Acid cleanse and care for the skin simultaneously. The Lactobacillus lysate and plant extracts in its formula provide both microbiome-friendly and antioxidant-supported cleansing. It offers a gentle cleansing routine without tightening or causing sensitivity to the skin.

Especially for children over 12 years of age and during pregnancy, YOUSÉN facial cleansing gel can be used safely if there are no dermatological problems or special conditions on the skin. However, if there are personal sensitivities or allergic conditions, it is always best to consult a dermatologist before using the product.
